We see home groups as a chance to encourage deeper relationships, to connect people with new friends, and to give our church an opportunity to talk through the Sunday message and look for more specific and tangible accountability in applying God’s word. Our home groups are like extensions of our church family so they not only meet together to talk and study, but also to reach out to the community both around their homes and around the church building.

Children are a valued part of the Church at Transcend. We seek to teach our children at their level from Luke 2:52:
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Children’s Sunday school is during church service at 10:45 and spans from nursery through 5th grade, with 6 graders and up joining us in the sanctuary for services.
Transcend’s Youth Group is for 6th-12th graders and meets every Wednesday at 7pm except on first Wednesday of the month when we meet at 6:30 off-site in downtown Harrisburg to serve a meal with Isaiah 61 ministries.
During our regular meetings together we play group games, have discussions from the Bible or a book about Christianity, and then break into smaller groups to discuss our faith in a deeper way as well as to pray for one another. Every once in a while we also have nights where we just hang out and play board games, go do something in town, or just have dinner together.
Our heart is to see the youth in Harrisburg loving church, loving other Christian peers, and most importantly, loving Jesus. If that is something that is exciting to you (or your kids if you’re a parent reading this) we would love to have you be a part of our group!

We are doing everything we can to love our community and we’re learning from the best: Jesus. In His love and grace, God has reached out to us to offer a gift in salvation despite how little we may deserve it. As a church we embrace God’s call for us to go into the world and love with the same passion and commitment as He has. This means we go places where others would rather not go to embrace people others would rather walk past; because that’s what Jesus did.
About once per month several men from Transcend Church go to Dauphin County Prison in Harrisburg to share with inmates there. During our services at DCP we sing songs we sing at Transcend Church and take turns sharing about what God has done and is doing in our lives.
Being a Member
Membership at Transcend is an important commitment to living as a follower of Christ in the context of our local church. We believe this includes actively using the gifts and resources God has given you to serve in ministry, learning from and serving with the leaders God has placed in our church, encouraging others to pursue God more every day while receiving that same encouragement from others.
